unfortunately no WIFI there is also no freezer compartment kitchen utensils need to be renewed. EXCEPT THIS IT WAS VERY CLEAN AND WE HAD A NICE EXTENDED WEEKEND.I
Fantastic. Very good reception and very hospitable. Definitely worth it.
The house was fine; corresponded to the photos, although there are now regular beds (fine by the way) instead of bunk beds. Too bad about the bathroom; small bath with hand shower, which sometimes makes it a mess. The bathroom is otherwise fine. We asked about the sauna ( (by the way, only infrared sauna). This was in a room that other people have access to. We did not use it. The man who welcomed us (I think the owner) did not speak Dutch; We don't speak much French, so we use our hands and feet a bit. Very friendly. The garden now looks different (messy). When the owners came home, they let 3 horses run in the garden, which also dropped a lot. We are not very familiar with horses, so we stayed on our terrace upstairs. There was also a dog (but that was reported). The waiting machine was broken, but the next evening a technician came immediately and after more than an hour stated that he could not fix it. We were 2 people so some hand washing was no problem.
The cottage was spacious, attractive and fully furnished. Everything you need is there and works. Sufficient privacy and beautiful green surroundings. Nice owners who go their own way, but are approachable if necessary and very nice /interested. I hardly smelled the paper factory (a few kilometers away). In short: we had a very nice stay. The only downside: the wooden bathroom has a bath with a separate shower head that cannot be secured to the wall (this would make the entire bathroom wet). So make do a little. Lovely jet and nice warm water. It was doable for us.
What a fantastic house! It is located in a small village adjacent to a beautiful, hilly forest. There are no catering establishments in the village itself, but a 7-minute drive away you will find Virton where there are several nice restaurants. Furthermore, the house is super nice. Wonderfully light, comfortably furnished, and a kitchen where you have everything you need. Highly recommended!!
Beautiful holiday home. Neat, fully equipped. Friendly owners, very hospitable, and do everything to make you feel comfortable!
On arrival Friday afternoon there was no one to receive us, we had called but no one was on the line and then just sent a message that we had arrived. We noticed that the door was open and after 20 minutes of doubt we went upstairs ourselves. Once installed, the man arrived at the stables and we contacted them. The man himself was friendly and gave us useful information about the town and nice hiking trails. The house is adjacent to that of the owners and the garden/shed is shared. Unfortunately, the sauna was defective, we would have liked to have known this in advance since we had booked the house especially for that… There was also little privacy, both at the front and at the back there was a view into the house, which made the dogs very restless. The owners also regularly had people visiting who then walked around in the garden and barn. When we were playing badminton in the barn, people would also come in to either cut wood or get wine from the storage, to which our dogs reacted very protectively. The lack of privacy was really a downside.
It was nice that the owner had already lit the fireplace on arrival, which is a nice way of arriving. You can use wood from the owner, which is really a luxury. The holiday home (attached floor that is partly in and partly attached to the shared barn) is located approximately 6 kilometers from the nearest village and supermarket, which makes the stay remote. The house is located on the main road which, in addition to the provincial road (N87 / D981) which is a little further on, is the main artery from Belgium to France and vice versa. The family also lives in the house and of course they also live their life, that means there are living sounds. The family receives very regular visitors, presumably because of their work with horses, but that is a guess, they could also be workmen or friends or maybe all of them, no idea. The fact is that this all goes in or through the barn and, as mentioned, it is attached to the holiday home. But even if the owner goes to his car via the barn at 06:45 in the morning to go to work, you will see the light in the barn turn on (the bedroom of the holiday home is in the barn) and hear you open and close the wooden barn doors, if a trailer has to be removed from the barn at 06:30 in the morning, the same story and when the owner gives a party with music in the barn for 30/40 people in the evening you can hear this too, of course. The barn is a shared space, you can play table tennis, volleyball and the sauna is also located here. We did not feel free enough to use the sauna because there were usually other people in the barn or walked through it and there is also a room opposite the sauna that is rented out, but the (infrared) sauna itself sees good uit.In the area you can enjoy walking in, through and around the forest. Mind you, if you have difficulty walking, the way to the forest is still a challenge.
The cottage was really lovely, a large garden and the setting is fantastic! The owners are very friendly and you will certainly not be bothered by that. The only thing that might be good to know is that there is a bath with a shower head in it, but the shower head cannot be secured. So either in the bath, or standing with the snake (: We had a good time, and will definitely remember this for who knows next time!
The photos on the site show exactly how we found the holiday home: spacious and pleasantly furnished with care, in a quiet location and practically equipped with very good quality materials and all amenities, including in the kitchen. The very spacious table was one cozy to dine at and practical to work on, with a beautiful view of a large enclosed garden (ideal for our dog) and grapevines on the wall. The terrace has sun from morning to evening. The area is quiet and rural, ideal for long walks in the rolling Gaume between fields and bos.De owners were always available if necessary, friendly and helpful. In the village itself there was no bakery nor small supermarket, so it is best to do your shopping for a few days at a time because of the distance. We would love to return, in the winter, to relax by the stove after a long walk.We have had a 100% positive experience!!
Beautiful gite, nice place and sweet host and lady.
Cozy apartment with a warm welcome with a pre-heated stove.
Lovely place! Tastefully built and furnished gite. In addition, a beautiful barn with all kinds of facilities such as table tennis, basketball and volleyball net. To top it off a lovely garden, with free-roaming chickens. For us a beautiful ensemble for 4 wonderful days. Owners are very friendly, but not too present. Despite shared outdoor space, therefore, a good sense of privacy. Where the villages in the Ardennes can sometimes look a bit desolate, we found the Gaume region, with Lamorteau and Torgny, among others, really beautiful. There was no question of odor nuisance (as described in other reviews) due to the paper mill located a little further away during our stay. Super price/quality ratio! We (2 adults and 3 children of primary school age) will be back.
Nice place in peace. Relaxing week with great walks to do. Owner very discreet during the stay despite the proximity and the shared garden. Helpful and pleasant
cozy house, great kitchen, garden to the south, between the horses, the chickens and Narbonne the adorable dog :-)
At first sight a very nice gîte, real holiday feeling in Belgian Provence! But unfortunately the stay has some important flaws .. first of all, dishes were dirty in the cupboard on arrival, cutlery was not completely clean, cobwebs in every corner and a 'dusty' general impression. Then throughout the stay more and more insect bites despite using anti-mosquito spray. These bites are type of bed bugs or fleas!!? Hope the owners take this problem seriously because their answer was that it was because of the heat. Finally, there is no wifi while there is a sheet with passwords..
Calm, originality. The owners are very nice and gracious!
Nice, bright and cozy house with lots of privacy. Beautiful terrace and nice garden for children.
Cozy reception, very neat Proper accommodation. The climbing frame is not really for small (-4years) children
Nice well-kept apartment. Spacious, attractive and fully equipped. Nice landlord who is immediately ready if necessary. In the neighborhood there is little to do, but with the car you can reach the most beautiful places.
Very friendly owner, warm welcome. Communal garden but privacy respected. Dog (German Shepherd) brought along and had a very nice playmate during a stay with the dog owner. .not always present and first wait if your dog can tolerate playmate. .All present and in order..owner gives you all info about house and environment and is flexible and correct with a refund guarantee. In short, had a very pleasant stay and definitely recommended! Thanks a lot ad owner! !!
House was very nice and spacious. Fully equipped and everything clean. Beautiful nature in the area. Villages in the area which are dilapidated. Also a factory in the neighborhood that sometimes stinks
Very friendly welcome. Beautiful surroundings. Nice accommodation. Very nice that our dog could come.
The apartment is located in a small village where there is nothing to do.Overal is the presence of the paper mill to smell. The apartment is not far from a river where the waste is liberally discharged. Especially at night and in the morning the stench can not be hardened. Just very dirty. We also went for a day canoeing and even in that river it was good to smell. For the children there is little to do, the pool in Virton (indoor pool) is closed in the summer and the nearest outdoor pool is located 50 km away in Luxembourg. The villages in the area generally look very desolate and dilapidated. The cottage itself is well furnished, except for a few small details, no beer glasses, while it is still a beer environment, the ceiling is very low, look out for not the head to bump. Two coffee machines, but no teapot or kettle. The pans are a mixed bag with only very large kettels.Het apartment is on the first floor, stairs, cottage in, and again down stairs to walk into the garden, not really practical. Behind the apartment is a wooden platform that is completely green and is slippery. The wood has rotted away in various places. The garden is shared with the owner, in itself a nice piece of grass with lots of shade but no easy chairs, only Ikea kitchen chairs that were incredibly filthy. In the apartment there are hundreds of leaflets with what to do in the area, but not so, it concerns attractions that are all 100 km and can be found. The owners are friendly but reserved and certainly do not seek contact. We did not see them on arrival and not on departure. If you go along they are your word. Conclusion, not very practical apartment in smelly environment where there is little to experience.
Nice neat space, luxury kitchen and appliances, the cottage is well maintained and spacious. Freedom to use the garden, and very friendly owners / residents in the neighboring house. Quiet village, unfortunately no shops or restaurants within walking distance. We had a wonderful week. The problems mentioned by others about the skylights are solved, all skylights have eclipse. Upon arrival the manager was gone, but the door was open and we could install ourselves without any problems.
Lovely home, the village is very quiet. No grocery store or eatery. We were received by one, the key was in the door. No explanation WiFi or house rules. Existing products in the fridge from the previous huurder.De adjacent bedroom with windows on the common area (a large stable). Very nice that you look at the bales, but during our stay a group of kids decided to have a party with loud music and shouting. Not convenient if your child is sleeping. After I said something to the music at the landlord was put out, but the shouting continued until an hour or eleven "at night. Too bad it does not take into account tenants. Over all nice stay, spacious yard and beautiful environment. No reception , noise pollution and unsafe playground equipment (sagging shelves, frayed rope).
Nice quiet holiday had. Lovely fireplace! Nice coming home after a nice walk! Also nice for small children. There is a large barn, a beautiful garden and a stable with horses. Also in the house there are many children's books and toys. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
we spent a very nice week in the loft. l 'apartment is very beautiful, very well made, practical and comfortable. If I had to give a negative point, it
We had our two grandchildren, who had fun (to feed chickens, horses in
We enjoyed our holiday. The cottage is in a beautiful place in a village. The owners are very hospitable and kind.
Close (1 hour drive) from Luxembourg City and Champagne (2 hour drive). The village is not very exciting. The cottage is nice. A lot of flies and when you sleep in the living room, it's early light (no curtains for skylights). Nice owners.
Very nice people draw poker and the smell of the paper was not to do when waem weather and 35 degrees in t apartment is not pleasant ... 8 large Velux windows without blinds is easy remedy.
We had a wonderful midweek Le Pigeonnier. Everything perfectly groomed. Sympathetic location and all the comforts voorzien.Jeroen
Ideal holiday home for a family with children. Many play opportunities in and around the house. The house is nicely furnished and fully equipped. The beds are really not good unfortunately.
Beautiful environment in which lots to see and do (nature, fishing, historic sites), during our visit full advantage of the famous micro-climate (beautiful weather). The cottage is very cozy and well furnished, with a downside to the quality of the beds. The rooftop terrace is perfect and gives a lot of privacy, the garden is very nice for small children
A cozy family! With five children in a renovated farmhouse together is pretty fun our hosts speak excellent nederlands.Alles is for reference only the internet was not
Spacious and comfortable house with modern amenities. In particular, the common room / barn with lots of sports is fun for kids.
