The Baltic Sea Islands

There are several islands that you can visit during your holiday in a holiday home on the Baltic Sea islands. Some examples of islands we recommend are:

- Island of Rügen
- Island of Hiddensee
- Island of Fehmarn
- Island of Usedo

Each island is unique and worth a visit. We will guide you through the possibilities that each of these islands offers.

The island of Rügen

The island of Rügen is located in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania near the Baltic Sea. It is the largest island in the Baltic Sea and has long sandy beaches and many forests. There are great hiking and cycling trails on the island. The island is easily accessible and can be reached by car or train. Rügen is part of the Jasmund National Park, which is a UNESCO-listed nature reserve. The park is characterised by high white chalk cliffs that contrast with the blue sea and green forests.

Island Poel - so nice!

On the small island of Poel you will find everything you need for perfect relaxation: a peaceful natural landscape, unspoilt sandy beaches and the majestic lighthouses of Timmendorf. The latter is still an indispensable aid for ships on their way to Wismar harbour. Explore the island's meadows, forests, beaches and cliffs on bicycle tours and let the island museum tell you about life and work on Poel in earlier times. A highlight is, of course, the brick church in Kirchdorf - which simply belongs to a visit to the island!

The island of Hiddensee

The island of Hiddensee is a car-free island and therefore a little more difficult to reach, but definitely worth a visit. The island lies to the west of Rügen and can only be reached by ferry. The best way to get to know the island is to spend a day exploring it on foot or by bike. It's a little less touristy here and the nature is fantastic. Ideal if you want to relax in nature.

The island of Fehmarn

The island of Fehmarn is the third largest island in Germany. It is a sunny island with lots of wind. The wind makes it a true paradise for windsurfers and kitesurfers. If you are looking for a sporty holiday, the island of Fehmarn is a good choice. Book a holiday in a holiday home on the Baltic Sea islands and enjoy the relaxation that the wind has to offer.

The island of Usedom

On the island of Usedom you will find beautiful Baltic Sea resorts with imperial baths. From the remote and quiet north to the touristy south, there are many sights to see. The island is easy to reach. The most practical and fastest way to get there is by plane, although this depends on the region where you live. It is also possible to arrive by train or car. Usedom is one of the sunniest regions in Germany and is therefore ideal for sun worshippers.

In addition to these four islands, there are 2 islands, namely Vilm and Ummanz.

The Moselle is a river that flows through Germany. The area through which the river flows is located in the west of Germany and borders Luxembourg. It is a green region where there are many vineyards and castles.

The body of water that separates Germany, Austria and Switzerland is called Lake Constance. It is a popular holiday destination because of the many opportunities for water sports. On VidaVilla.com you can book a luxury villa near Lake Constance.

Near the border with the Netherlands is the Eifel National Park. It is located in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia and is the only national park in the country.
