Cottage Baita del Por Azzolo

The house was very lovingly furnished and the reception by the landlady was very warm. However, it was difficult to find despite Navi. The location wasn't the problem, but the way to the house. The hip way was only passable with a tractor or off-road vehicle. So first go on foot and try to ask someone for directions, not so easy in the secluded location. After about 20 minutes we were able to find someone and communicate with hands and feet where the house is. The very nice man then showed us the direction and also that there is a path that can be driven on by car. On the other way there was also a tiny hint to the house from the street. For the next guests as a hint, there are glass and waste bins at the entrance, then always follow the path and after a sharp left turn the second house. The house is not suitable for people with mobility problems. You always have to climb stairs, and the sleeping possibility for the third person (fold-out armchair) is not really suitable for sleeping. The house is a good 15 km from Seggiano in the mountains at almost 900 m altitude, the environment is like in the German low mountain range. Of course, if you drive up or down the countless serpentines, you will find Tuscany as you know it from pictures Nevertheless, we had a fantastic holiday. Maybe it helps the other guests in their decision. If you want to see something, you have to go up and down all the time. And if you just want to relax and have your peace, this is the place for you.

Nice house with a beautiful garden and beautifully situated in the back between fruit trees. Super quiet. Everything I needed was there. It is not large, but for a maximum of 2 people it is an ideal base for trips in the beautiful Val d'Orcia.

The house is situated in a remote area, so remote that it takes at least 70-90 min to drive in hilly and slow small roads from the highway to reach it. Pescina is also difficult to find!Once there (after the owner came and collected us from the nearby pizzeria), the place is spectacular. The house is tiny and quite busy with a lot of stuff but with space to sit and cook, wash and sleep.it is surrounded by a rather large hilly ground and each side of the house has its own terrace/sitting area to the most of the sun and the shade. There is even an outdoor sink and BBQ!The place is very very quiet. Not a sound and amazing starry skies.We took the most of all this outside space and sun and quietness.The local pizzeria/restaurant (da Lucca) bearby is very nice and convenient. No walking on the road at night, though!On the minus side, the house is quite rustic. The bathroom is almost below par. The hot water is not a lot (one miny shower at the time), the plastic mat was not clean underneath and everything gets wet after showering.The kitchen works well but there is not a lot of space to cook (and wash). The house could have perhaps been cleaner (drain in the kitchen)There is no wifi (OK!) but the connection to the network is erratic. It should not be a great deal but it is a bit confronting.WE did not expect the area to be so remote, which makes every moves to other places like an expedition. 5km takes 15-20 min. Siena is 90min away! We weren't prepared! our fault! The walks themselves are not super easy as they go quite up and down. Overall, be ready for a very remote and quiet/rustic place!

Upon arrival our hostess was present at the cottage. She gave a tour and was extremely friendly! Beautiful surroundings. Lots of rest and beautiful nature.

Nice location, but in kitchen and bathroom lacked a thing. Drain shower was poor, we had to stop the water with towels. Cookware incomplete. For the rest, we really enjoyed the tranquility, beautiful scenery and pretty towns.

You really do need a car that can drive on bad roads. In the area of u200bu200bMonte Amiata there to commit quite wonderful hiking trails, signage can however be desired. A hiking guide is here worth gold.

it is a nice house with a lovely garden. Especially the privacy we find super. disadvantage I find the tiny sink and stove with really only 2 pips. I also found it very dusty and the bathroom just dirty.

A lovely spot for a quiet holiday. A real plus of the cottage is well furnished and complete. They have not cut back on nice loungers, a parasol, and also in terms of utensils we rarely "experienced a fully equipped house. The garden is beautiful, so you can enjoy reading books all day. The cottage was much more remote than we can infer from the description. In bad weather and off season here in our opinion has little to do in the surrounding area, we expected more tourism. We arrived at the lodge at night, a very nice and cozy little house "end of the world." The "interior is comfortable, nicely decorated. The next morning, we were surprised to see a deer in the garden which is actually a large chestnut woods. We enjoyed evenings around the charming fireplace after days full of discoveries: beautiful scenery, numerous picturesque villages to visit nearby, food ... It is also possible to go hiking from gîte.Nous returned with great memories ..

Nice cottage surrounded by chestnut trees and it was a day of rain then the glass conservatory, with three doors, the feeling that you are sitting outside. Good starting possibilities to eg Siena, wonderful hot springs of Bagni San Filippo and the typical Italian villages in the area.

Lovely house, very secluded. Nice outdoor area can not pick just greetings. Could be cleaner inside. Rest is plentiful. At the top of a mountain. Enjoyed but the bed is very hard.

We had a nice week at this little gnome house, very small though, you just have inside to sleep and shower. Pity that there is not a small bench inside presence is.We really enjoyed everything about the house, which was a good thing you're not much to look inside had.We every evening a small fire burning in the outer Fireplace, then you are really super. (Or use mosquito repellent) (we ourselves have bought an ax, for some logs to smash ;-) At sunset all you see bats flying between the trees, you hear the onions' at night, foxes are running and we have deer gezien.Verder we discovered at the bottom of the garden hose about 1 meter and unfortunately we had one morning a small scorpion in the bathroom. (we were just a little too much back to nature). Do you enjoy tranquility in beautiful surroundings, this is the ideal house. The definition of small cozy cottage meets certain. It's a bit outdated but there is enough space for 2 persons. The outdoor area is lovely.

Wonderfully quiet. We have 12 wonderful days before. Even the small villages around are fun to bezoeken.In Bagni S Filippo its thermal baths you walk into the forest and find your own private puddle on. Warm water. Beautiful hikes made. Almost every evening a campfire, roast fish. In the local pizzaria you delicious food, friendly service and not expensive. The cottage was difficult to find.

A sweet little leprechaun cottage for 2 persons. It is focused on the great outdoors: the inside is too tight for the whole day to spend. Outside you can relax in the garden. We also learn roasting chestnuts. A great base for exploring southern Tuscany.

A lovely cozy cottage for 2 personen.Prachtige location (Val d 'Orcia). The fireplace comes in handy on cooler avonden.Je've got friendly neighbors, an elderly farmer and his wife with their zoon.Je can enjoy the peace or trips to the many beautiful places in Tuscany and Umbrie.Een recommended.

A very nice little house. Big enough for two people, but it must be good again. Because the living room is not much (but an easy chair). On the terrace by the kitchen was great there was always a breeze (late August). Friendly reception and quiet in the hills completely detached in a small hamlet with a lot of "local color", an Italian mother holding her son away on the field or in his barn regularly worked hard cried for food etc.
