Huis Van Engelen offers a cosy living room with large sliding doors to a private courtyard. The kitchen is fully equipped. In addition to a breakfast table in the open kitchen, there is a separate dining room cum office. Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a sunny south-facing roof terrace with views over the countryside

Huis Van Engelen is centrally located on the Hogeland with its historic mounds and centuries-old churches, making it a perfect base for walking and cycling tours. Groningen is home to one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Europe and borders a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Wadden Sea. You will find peace and space here, but being active is also possible. Venture into the Ommeland and enjoy all the beauty the province has to offer. Well worth a visit is the historical town of Appingedam with its hanging kitchens over the Damsterdiep and on sunny days a visit to the beach of Delfzijl is recommended. From nearby Lauwersoog and Eemshaven, trips to the Wadden Islands of Schiermonnikoog and Borkum are possible. Huis Van Engelen is a stone's throw from the city of Groningen. 15 car-minutes or a regular 30-minute bus connection brings you to the beautiful historic city centre and the train and bus station. Groningen City offers plenty of cosiness with terraces and small-scale quality restaurants, cosy boutiques and markets, museums and places of interest such as the Groninger Museum, Museum aan de A, the A-Church, the Martini Tower, the Prinsentuin and the Forum Groningen
