You will stay in the countryside near the Brabant village of Alphen. In Alphen, you will find a good supermarket and some catering establishments and a bicycle rental. Peace seekers can enjoy the Chaamse and Alphen forests. These forests are centuries old. Marshy grasslands, streams and heaths with fens characterise the area. Agricultural areas are restored to their former state in this region. As a result, fens and marshes with clearings are once again created, providing the beautiful views. If you want to go hiking or cycling, you will certainly get your money's worth here. Many routes are well signposted.
In warm weather, you can go swimming at recreational lake 't Zand. Attraction and Safari park the Beekse Bergen and recreation park the Efteling are good for a fun day out.
Just under 6 km away is the border village of Baarle Nassau. This particular enclave is in the Netherlands but has no fewer than 30 Belgian enclaves. Super unique. Because this special village attracts many tourists, the area has many beautiful walking and cycling routes and a large choice of restaurants and cafés, definitely worth exploring.
Breda is a beautiful city, where you can shop well but also take a nice boat trip on the canal. Here too, Brabant's hospitality disarms you with a wide choice of catering establishments. There are also regular fun activities in the city. The other city in the immediate vicinity is Antwerp. The large market square is very photogenic. The Rubens House or various beautiful museums make a visit worthwhile even in bad weather.
