Wonderfully completely renovated cottage in Vaggeryd in Småland with a lot of innovation in rich, radiant colors. The kitchen with its special layout was renovated in 2016. In the magnificent bathroom is a round bathtub. You can reach the sleeping area with two good beds on the second floor via an old steep staircase. Bed linen and towels included. Two living rooms on the first floor. The house is unfortunately not suitable for children because of the steep stairs. The terrace at the back of the house is fully protected. Beautiful veranda at the front. Enjoy the view of the lake, which you can still see through the trees. The rowing boat is already on site at the jetty. Close to Jönköping (36 km) with shopping, Gränna (72 km) with its candy canes, or just enjoy the peace and nature. Take a boat trip on lake Vättern to Visingsö. A day trip to Astrid Lindgrens Värld (140 km) is worth a visit, or visit a glassworks in Glasriket (150 km). There are only three houses in the area.
The homeowner says:
Sjöåkra has been in the family since the 1880s and is now run by us in the fourth generation. The house was originally the old farmhouse on the farm and was used as a home until 1956. My grandmother Edith named the house Gamlebo, which roughly means the old house. The house is a log house with classic Swedish red planks. It was probably built here in 1882, but the placement of the building by the chimney suggests that it is even older, and probably originally stood elsewhere, possibly in the neighboring village of Plätt. For the last 50 years, the house has stood empty and deteriorated. Renovation has been underway for three years and has been extensive. New foundations, beams and floors have been laid. Water, sewer and central heating have been installed. A brand new addition houses bathroom, laundry and other amenities. During the renovation, the preservation of historical monuments was respected, so old construction methods and materials were used, and all materials are natural substances that live and breathe with the house.
Note: Please note that there are animals on the premises, including cats.
